Max Graham- guitar and vocals

Over the course of the summer of 2014, newcomer-to-the-cities Kerri Joy (of SisterTree) and local Newgrass superstar Max Graham (Kind Country) started tinkering with a selection of folk songs. Over two years the project evolved into its current state, bringing in Patrick McCormick (Wookiefoot) and Todd Menton (Boiled in Lead) with their deep roots in traditional Irish and folk music, Olivia Quintanilla (Useful Jenkins) and her classical and jazz sensibilities, and Gordon Bratt (Broken Spoke), whose natural ear for harmonies and sparkling stage presence rounded-out the ensemble perfectly. The combined talents of this all-star group, inspired by such diverse influences, produce a dazzling fusion of genres; a sound at once rooted in tradition and full of ecstatic innovation.

Blas Meala is a project focused on organic exploration, discovery and interpretation. Through the ebb and flow of seasons- love, loss, failure and triumph- we all seek the sweetness in life: a tiny taste of honey.
